Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Planet Epoch service ("Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account.

2. Your account

• One human, one account. You may not share accounts or operate multiple accounts in the same galaxy.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done under your account, including by anyone you give access to.
• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in jurisdictions where that is the digital-consent age) to create an account.
• If your account is locked for repeated failed logins, wait the cool-off period or reset your password.

3. Acceptable use

The following are prohibited and can lead to suspension or permanent ban:

• Exploiting bugs, automating the game with bots or scripts, or using third-party tools that give you an unfair advantage.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or doxxing of other players through in-game chat or comms.
• Real-money trading of accounts, in-game items, or in-game positions.
• Sharing or selling access to your account.
• Reverse-engineering or scraping the Service in ways that disrupt operation.
• Pretending to be Planet Epoch staff or another player.

4. Subscriptions and payment

• Paid plans are charged in advance per month or per year. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not see your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your dashboard; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds: we will refund unused time on request within 14 days of payment if the Service was materially broken on our side. Outside that window, refunds are at our discretion.
• During open alpha, all paid features may be available free of charge. We reserve the right to enable billing at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Service availability and game seasons

• The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime; planned maintenance will be announced where possible.
• Galaxies run as time-limited seasons. At the end of a season the galaxy is reset and all in-game state in that galaxy is wiped. Your account, subscription, and cross-season achievements persist; the galaxy state does not.
• We may take down galaxies that violate these terms (e.g. organised harassment campaigns) without refund of in-galaxy items.
• We may add, remove, or change game features during alpha and beta.

6. Intellectual property

• The Planet Epoch name, game art, code, lore, and unit designs remain our property.
• User-generated content — your nation name, house name, flag design, chat messages — remain yours, but by creating them you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host them as part of the Service and to feature them in marketing material (screenshots of the galaxy map, news desk pull-quotes, etc.).
• If your in-game name or flag design infringes a third party's rights or violates §3, we may change it without notice.

7. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Deletion removes your personal data per the Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Repeated cheating, harassment, or fraud are zero-notice offences.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will meet your requirements, be error-free, or be available at any specific time. You play at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of in-game progress, items, or rank.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via in-game notification before they take effect; continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless a mandatory consumer-protection rule in your country says otherwise.
