23 August 2026: Removed AI Content from the News Feed
The Galactic News feed has been rebuilt from the ground up. The AI-generated artwork is gone — every picture in the feed is now pulled from the game itself, so a story looks like it belongs to your galaxy instead of a stock illustration.
The picture is now the subject
- Factions fly their own flag. A story about a nation shows that nation's flag. Commanders who have never designed one get a distinct flag generated from their colours, so no two empires read the same.
- Ships show the real ship. When a story is about a vessel — a new class detected, a fleet logged inbound — you see that ship straight from the registry, alongside its attack, defence, and hull rating.
- Colonies and yards show the real structure. Colonies, refineries, and shipyards render from the actual build art, tinted in the owner's colours.
- Battles show the battle. Combat reports carry real captured footage of solar-view fighting — hulls, tracer fire, and wreckage.
- Fleets on the move — commissionings, mobilisations, mass jumps — get a fleet-in-space backdrop rather than a bare badge.
- Wire and flavour pieces sit against real nebula skies captured from live systems, stamped with the broadcasting channel's callsign.
Crisis alerts, themed
- Viral outbreaks show a colony under a green biohazard wash.
- Logistics and trade strikes show a refinery under a red alert wash.
Less noise
- Morale bulletins no longer flood the feed. Empire-mood swings were being reported on every little shift; now only a small share of them make the news. The morale effects on your empire are unchanged — you just aren't reading about every wobble.
- A channel badge on every story makes the source clear at a glance, colour-coded per network.
Nothing you have to do — open the news and it is already the new feed, including for stories that were already published.
