Crusaders are used to carry Cultists to new worlds for expansion. They build colonies where small groups of cultist priests and followers settle showing the local population the true way. Crusaders also contain many ancient artifacts and relics gathered over the years from around the galaxy. Often they construct wonderous holy relics where followers gather and worship the gods. Crusaders are sent ahead of the main host to scan worlds for the relics of the First Ones; planetary-scanner work is core doctrine of the order, and the readings are returned to the Crusade conclave before any landing party is committed.
