The Drop Pod is the centrepiece of the Sharnes unique method of expansion. Rather than assembling structures fully, as other races do, the Sharne attach the partially assembled structure to a Yvannas 4 chassis, which transports the structure to a destination, which can be in another system, at which point the structure is completed. Each structure is referred to as a separate class of Drop Pod for easy Identification. The Class III Drop Pod is used to assemble the Cavalent Plasma Array and Hellfire Laser Platform. These light defences can be deployed in key areas, and are often the first line of defence for any Sharne nation.
