The Drop Pod is the centrepiece of the Sharnes unique method of expansion. Rather than assembling structures fully, as other races do, the Sharne attach the partially assembled structure to a Yvannas 4 chassis, which transports the structure to a destination, which can be in another system, at which point the structure is completed. Each structure is referred to as a separate class of Drop Pod for easy Identification. The Class IV Drop Pod is used to assemble the Umbral Listening Post, which is monitors all hyperspace activity travelling through the system.
