The Michigan Heavy Cargo Freighters are essentally a refit version of the old Michigan Fighter Carriers. It became apparent with the development of the Saratoga Class Heavy Carrier that the Michigan was becoming redundant, so the design was altered to make the ship cater for cargo transport. The Michigan makes an impressive cargo hauler as it has managed to keep its main drive system. This new version does not take as long to construct as the carrier version due to the simpler design. Any serious trading operation would be foolish not to consider these ships as there primary cargo haulers.
